Jungle Knife & Sheath
The jungle knife was designed as cross between the hand axe and long machete. It can chop thick branches, as the axe does, while still cutting brush and grass like the longer machetes. The blade length is 12", handle of 6" and weighs only 20 oz. making this knife very easy to use and packable. The odd shape gives the user the benefit of keeping the weight right behind the cutting edge but minimizing the bulkiness. The backside of the knife can be used in dull edge cutting and digging. The blade thickness is .162 at the grip, tapering to .116 at the tip, is made of medium to high carbon steel, and has Rockwell hardness of 44-50. The handle is made of Beech wood, with a turn-backed grip for better gripping and preventing slippage. Comes pre-sharpened and ready use but can be easily sharpened further. The sheaths are made of leather, item #JKLS or coudra with a plastic liner, item #JKCS, which will be discontinued when stock runs out.
